Notes over Jamie audio file

JAMIE///ViSUAL COMMUNICATION///MODELS///CAT???

The basis behind the communication model is basically the accumulation of semantics, basic semiotics, and a the graphic form and putting them together and making a clear definition of information. Like jamie said Shannon Weaver's model has an understanding of how there is a plethora of noise causing issues when trying to communicate a message, but understanding how culture and connotations can be apart of that and how they are the reasoning behind feedback. Then Berlo really focused on how "human factors" apply to the model. I liked his point about dual relationships compared to the message and how the channel works. The format how something is transmitted to the other participant can really effect the message, in addition how the message is perceived can be a factor. Emmert Donaghy really did a good job breaking down the real issues when sending a message. The perception,  motivation, and reasoning are the three things he pointed out that can skew or strengthen a message, these are really at the core the real basic things that are important.

My issues with all the models none of them seem to talk about feedback. Feedback to me seems like the major factor of a message, feedback can really change a pov or a way things will be after the message is presented. I think it would be interesting to look into how feedback plays its roll within the model.
